Hey everyone! I just thought of sharing a funny but cool keyboard trick in this frosty evening. Let me turn up your night with a brand new disco right inside your room. Amazed? Don't be. It's all about turning your keyboard lights into disco. Yes, your keyboard lights — Num Lock, Caps Lock and the Scroll Lock will dance like never before. However, I still don't know what the use of scroll lock is. If you somehow manage to get it, please contact me personally (god will bless you). Anyway, let the party begin.
How to do it?
I believe that master of all software is still the notepad. We should respect it. Now start #SirNotepad and copy the following code into it. If you do not know how to copy-paste in windows, please refer to our ultra-awesome article — How to Copy-Paste in Windows?
Set wshShell =wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
DO
wscript.sleep 100
wshshell.sendkeys "{CAPSLOCK}"
wshshell.sendkeys "{NUMLOCK}"
wshshell.sendkeys "{SCROLLLOCK}"
loop
Okay, now save it with a vbs extension (e.g. iHaveMyOwnDisco.vbs). Your work with the creepy codes is over (pheeww!). Now to make your keyboard LEDs dance in disco just double click on the file. Dantatakata Dakatatakata Dhinka Chika Boom Boom. Okay bye.
Hey wait, now who would stop that?
Party over? Okay then close the disco. Just start the Windows Task Manager (by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del). Go to the processes tab. Now turn the disco off by ending the wscript.exe process. Actually, there is another simple way to stop the blink. Click 'Start > Shut Down'. You are done.
Few Tips and Tricks:
- If you are a tech geeks or a programmer, you should try experiments on it. Here's an interesting one:
Set wshShell =wscript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
do
wscript.sleep 200
wshshell.sendkeys "{CAPSLOCK}"
wscript.sleep 100
wshshell.sendkeys "{NUMLOCK}"
wscript.sleep 50
wshshell.sendkeys "{SCROLLLOCK}"
loop
- Run the file (I mean turn the disco on). Then try to type something anywhere. You won't be able to write correctly. If you type XYZ, it will actually be something like XxXYZz.
- If you double click the file twice, you will notice a change in the mode of the lights' blink. However, you have to end the wscript.exe process twice in this case.
- Want to prank your friend? Just send your buddy an email with the file as an attachment. And write, "Hey just look at what I found, you can hack by this software"!
Enough writing for today (and enough reading too)! Go and try the trick. If you know the use of scroll lock, please don't forget to tell me in Facebook, Twitter or in Google+. Respect notepad. Respect #aloknath. Respect goats. Peace.
